The Aspire Center for Workforce Innovation

The Aspire Center for Workforce Innovation in Chicago transformed a former Elementary School in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood. Designed to support workforce development and small business incubation, Aspire Center aims to turn a site marked by historic disinvestment into a vibrant community hub for opportunity.

Site Pieces designed a custom tiered seating element at the heart of the space. The custom element included varying backrest angles to support different seating positions, integrated LED lighting, and an internal planter to bring life and texture to the center. This sculptural element invites people to gather, relax, and it truly provides an identity for the space.

We worked closely with Lamar Johnson Collaborative, whose team brought thoughtful vision for this project. From initial concept to install, we worked with the design team and contractor to create a great experience.
